I recently returned from a trip to Waco, Texas. While there, I visited the Hewitt Public Library. 

The library offered children's activities, interactive areas, comfy couches and chairs, and quiet rooms. The staff was so nice, and I look forward to visiting them again on my next trip to Waco. 

I also visited Fabled Bookstore. Twice! I found a new-to-me author, and we enjoyed coffee and the children's section. In case you're wondering, I have six grandchildren and am always looking for books for them. I also spotted one Little Free Library. Isn't it cute?

One reason I love Texas is the friendly people. Everybody from the coffee shop lady to the woman at the gas station was chatty and kind. We also met many friendly people at church, the swimming pool, and while walking around town. 

These are some of the reasons for setting one of my book series in Texas. A Texas Flower Farmer Cozy Mystery Series is set in the fictional town of Lutz, Texas. 

I'd love to hear about your experiences in Texas, besides the heat. The days we were there, it always hit 100 degrees or more.
