Jackie Layton has been reading as long as she can remember. Going to the library was one of her favorite adventures when she was growing up. When she got older, she began to imagine the stories she’d write one day. Marriage, raising two sons, and working as a pharmacist came first though. Jackie has lived in Kentucky, Georgia, and South Carolina. Two of Jackie’s dreams were to become a published author and to live at the beach. In 2016, her husband took a job in Pawleys Island, SC, and the dream became a reality. With the move, Jackie shifted from full-time pharmacist to part-time. This allowed her more time to focus on writing. When she’s not writing, you may find Jackie walking with her husband on the beach and collecting shells. She also learned to paddleboard on the creek in 2025. It may not be pretty, but she's doing it.
